Petitioner was engaged as Labourer for tree plantation in Forest Department. According to him, he has served in that capacity for more than three years; however, his engagement has been abruptly discontinued on 31.03.2026. 4. It is contended that since the work is perennial in nature, therefore, the decision taken by the concerned authority to disengage petitioner is without any justification. 5. Learned State Counsel, however, submits that work of plantation has completed in the concerned Forest Division, therefore, the services of the petitioner were no more required. He further submits that petitioner does not have any lien, as he was engaged as per exigency of work and after cessation of UKHC010129712026 2026:UHC:6499 work, there is nothing left to be done by petitioner. 6. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that work of tree plantation is going on in other Forest Divisions, therefore, petitioner can be considered for engagement in other Forest Divisions. 7. In such view of the matter, the writ petition is disposed of by permitting petitioner to make representation to Conservator of the concerned circle. If he makes representation within ten days from today, decision thereupon shall be taken, as per law, within six weeks thereafter.
