Petitioner was selected for Indian Forest Service against the vacancy which was reserved for physically challenged persons. In this writ petitioner, petitioner has sought the following reliefs: “I. Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent No. 2 to (a) permit the Petitioner to use his electronic device/tab for ease of reading in examination/evaluations, (b) provide the Petitioner with a designated assistant for software related with work/assignments to ensure familiarity with the software during the examination/assessments, (c) provide a designated assistant for tours and excursions, (d) provide a competent scribe well versed in English to assist the Petitioner during evaluations/assessments. II. Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondent no. 2 to reassess or re-evaluate the assessments/evaluations already conducted where the Petitioner complained of being deprived equal opportunity due to the non-compliance of the provisions of the RPwD Act and SC Handbook. III. Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondent No. 2 to comply with Section 20 read with Section 2(y) of the RPwD Act UKHC010120972025 2026:UHC:6482 and the SC Handbook, to provide reasonable accommodation/barrier free environment. IV. Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondent No. 2 to comply with Section 21 of the RPwD Act formulating and implementing an Equal Opportunity Policy, including but not limited to, providing for competent scribes, use of technology/electronic devices such as tablets with zoom and screen-reader features for all examinations and assessments, revision of training modules and course requirements, sensitisation of faculty and staff, to ensure equality and prevent any discrimination of the persons under the RPWD Act. V. Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondent No. 2 to comply with Section 23 of the RPWD Act and appoint a Grievance Redressal Officer. VI. Issue a writ, order, or direction in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondent No. 2 to comply with Section 42 of the RPwD Act, including providing accessible formats and ensuring inclusivity of persons under the RPwD Act.” 3. Mr. Manoj Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that petitioner has successfully completed induction training in Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun, therefore, the reliefs as claimed do not survive. 4. Having regard to the prayer made in this writ petition, this Court finds substance in the submission made by learned counsel for the respondents. 5.
