The present Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following relief:
“…to issue an appropriate Writ, Order or Direction, particularly a Writ of Mandamus, directing Respondent Nos.2 and 3 to consider and dispose of the proceedings in Rc.No.B2.192/2025, arising out of my application dated 10.03.2025, in accordance with law and as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court, and to consider my immediate requirement for interim/ad-hoc maintenance in accordance with law and pass such other order or orders.…”
2. The petitioner herein filed an application under Section 5 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 (hereinafter for short ‘the Act’). The 3rd respondent-Revenue Divisional Officer had issued notice to the respondents therein on 29.03.2025. Despite lapse of one year, the 3rd respondent has not disposed of the application filed under Section 5 of the Act. Therefore, the present Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent for expeditious disposal of the application. 3. As the prayer is innocuous, the present Writ Petition is disposed of at the admission stage, with the consent of learned counsel for respondent No.3, directing the 3rd respondent to make an endeavour for expeditious disposal of the application filed under Section 5 of the Act, preferably within a period of
