The present Writ Petition has been filed for the following relief: “……. to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature Writ of Mandamus, declaring the illegal action of the respondents in not calling the petitioner for the zoom counseling scheduled on 23.01.2024 at 4.00 PM in pursuance to the impugned orders of the 2nd respondent in Rc.No.2273275/E1.A/2023 dt.22.01.2024 though the petitioner is at Serial No.1 in the seniority list, as illegal, arbitrary, violative of Article 14,16 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to forthwith consider the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of professor in paediatric surgery…..” 2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, Sri R.V. Shiva Teja Reddy, learned counsel appearing for Sri K. Rathanga Pani Reddy, learned counsel for petitioner, submitted that subsequent to the filing of the writ petition, petitioner has been promoted. In view of the said development, learned counsel submitted that the relief sought in the writ petition has substantially been worked out and, therefore, nothing survives for adjudication in the present writ petition. 3. Recording the aforesaid submission and in view of the subsequent promotion of the petitioner, the cause of action no longer survives for consideration. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs.
