Learned advocate also submits that the petitioner is in custody for about 540 days and till date, there has been no progress in the trial, except submissions of the charge-sheet. Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that harsher process of law has already been issued against the absconding accused persons. Learned advocate also added that steps would be taken for expediting the case. 2 I have taken into account the quantum of seizure as well as the issue relating to previous antecedents pointed out by the learned advocate. Having considered the same, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected. However, the learned trial court is directed to split up the trial of the case at the earliest. The petitioner would renew his prayer for bail after the evidence of the seizure list witnesses is over. Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 1689 of 2025 is dismissed.
