DEVI SUBHASHINI ANNE SC For Endowments The Court made the following: 3 ORDER: The present Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the following few lines: “….to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ, Order, or Direction to declare the action of Respondent No.4 in abruptly stopping the construction of the compound wall with Commissioner’s sarvashreyanidhi for Rs.24,56,000/- and by village donation of the Sri Venugopalaswami Devasthanam VEMPADU, Ponnaluru Mandal Janardhanapuram, Prakasam District and to pass such other order or orders… 2. The Writ Petition is filed aggrieved by the action of the respondent No.4 in stopping construction of the compound wall of the Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple. 3. The respondents have filed their counter affidavit and stated that the construction of compound wall and design of the Arch Gate, to suit the temple structure and Agama Sastra rules the Engineering Wing of the Endowments Department have to prepare precise estimates and designs that strictly align with sacred Agama Sastras. But some of the villagers constructed a bare compound wall with bricks without finalization of the designs and the same is semi-finished condition. 4. It is further asserted that the 2nd respondent Commissioner, Endowments Department, A.P. Vijayawada constituted a Trust Board to 4 the Respondent Temple in the month of April 2026 and the said trust board proposed to complete the compound wall and the Arch gate along with Vahanasala under donor scheme. Accordingly, proposals were submitted to the Engineering wing of the Endowments Department and plans and designs are yet to be received along with estimates. And the respondents are proposed to complete the compound wall Arch Gate and Vahanasala and the same are going to be taken up as per the designs approved by the Engineering Wing of the Endowments Department. 5. Without going into the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to make an endeavour for completion of construction of the compound wall at the earliest possible time. 6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be nor order as to costs.
