Learned Additional Government Advocate takes notice for both the respondents.
2. It is the contention of the petitioner that he was granted 2.00 Acres in Survey No.14 of Tattekere Village, Maralawadi Hobli, Kanakapura Taluk by order dated 23.08.1994 and 30 other persons were also granted lands. Saguvali Chit has been issued to the petitioner on
24.08.2018. But the name of the petitioner is not entered in the revenue records. The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent- Tahsildar to enter the name of the petitioner in the revenue records.

Having regard to the prayer made in the writ petition and submissions of the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the considered opinion that the 2nd respondent-Tahsildar, Kanakapura Taluk, is duty bound to consider the representation given by the petitioner and pass necessary orders for entering the name of the petitioner in the land revenue records. Needless to observe that the Tahsildar shall verify the original Grant Register, the Saguvali Chit Issue Register, and other contemporaneous records to find out about the genuineness of the grant made in favour of the petitioner. If it is found that the grant was made in favour of the petitioner, then the Tahsildar shall proceed to enter the name of the petitioner in the land revenue records in accordance with law.
4. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this
order.

5. With these observations, the writ petition stands
disposed of.
6. Learned Additional Government Advocate is permitted to file memo of appearance within a period of four weeks from today.
