Goswami, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate has placed before this Court an order dated 29.05.2025 wherein reference has been made to an earlier order dated 08.01.2024 passed by the Director General of Police, Assam, Guwahati, according sanction for prosecution of the present writ petitioner in connection with Dhula P.S. Case No. 18/2018. In the present writ petition, the petitioner had challenged the order dated 31.08.2019 passed by the Superintendent of Police, Karbi Anglong whereby sanction for prosecution of the petitioner in connection with Dhula P.S. Case No. 18/2018 was accorded. By an interim order dated 28.02.2020, this Court kept the operation of the said order dated 31.08.2019 in abeyance. The learned Additional Senior Government Advocate has submitted that in view of the subsequent order dated 08.01.2024, the present writ petition has become infructuous. In the absence of any representation on behalf of the Page No.# 3/3 petitioner and there being no material to indicate otherwise, I find no reason to take a different view. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed as infructuous. The learned Additional Senior Government Advocate is directed to furnish copies of the letter dated 29.05.2025 and the sanction order dated 08.01.2024. The copies furnished by the learned Additional Senior Government Advocate are taken on record and shall be retained with the records of the case. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
