JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER Petitioner is before this Court calling in question registration of a crime in Crime No.772/2024, pending before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bengaluru Rural District, for the offences under Sections 351(2) and 75(2) of the BNS, 2023. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner and respondent No.2 would in unison submit that during the subsistence of these proceedings, the parties to the lis have entered into settlement amongst themselves by drawing up certain terms and conditions. The parties have filed an applications under - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:17436 CRL.P No. 2150 of 2025 Sections 359 r/w.528 of the BNSS seeking permission to compound the offences. 3. The application in I.A.No.2/2026 reads as follows: “2. The petitioner & respondent No. 2 both are respectfully submits that, the respondent No. 2 has come forward to settle the criminal proceedings initiated by her against the petitioner which was done by her due to misunderstanding and under mental distress and keeping in mind the future prospects of the both petitioner and respondent No. 2 family members, that she is desirous of settling the matter also considering that the dispute in Crime No. 772/2024 registered by Byadarahalli Police for the offences punishable under section 351(2) & 75(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 pending on the file of Chief Judicial Magistrate Court (C.J.M.) Bengaluru Rural District at Bengaluru to be withdrawn.” In the light of the afore-quoted application, I deem it appropriate to terminate the proceedings against the petitioner, as the allegations are not against the State. 4.
