It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that notwithstanding having filed an application as far back as in 2025, CESC Ltd. have till date not responded to the request for a separate electricity connection. On behalf of the private respondent, it is submitted that they have no objection to a separate electricity connection being granted to the petitioner but the same should not be from meter room situated at the premises of the private respondent. In response, it is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he is ready and willing to provide a 2 suitable alternative area for installation of a meter room. In view of the above, WPA 25074 of 2025 stands disposed of by directing the CESC Limited to respond to the communication dated 22nd September, 2025 being annexure ‘P-6’ to the writ petition and intimate the petitioner as to be reasons for the failure in providing the electricity connection. Let such exercise be completed within two weeks from the date of communication of this order. It is made clear that there has been no expression in the merits of the case and all issues are left open to be decided by the authority in accordance with law. If the circumstances so warrant, CESC Ltd. are granted liberty to approach the Officer-in- Charge of the local Police Station, who is directed to provide all assistance to CESC Ltd. Any costs for the above exercise are to be borne exclusively by the petitioner. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
