JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER The petitioner is before this Court calling in question proceedings in S.C.No.265/2022 for the offences punishable under Sections 498A, 504, 506 and 307 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code. 2. Heard Sri. Sandeep S.K., learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Sri. K Nageshwarappa, learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for respondent No.1, Sri. Dhruva Kumar K.N., learned counsel appearing for respondent No.2 and have perused the material on record. 3. The parties to the lis were also before the Family Court in M.C.No.207/2021 and have settled the dispute amongst themselves before the Family Court by terms of settlement. One of the term of the settlement is, closure of the present proceedings. The said term in the settlement reads as follows: "11. In view of the settlement the respondent has agreed to co-operate inclosing/quashing the proceeding in SC.No.265/2022, pending before the Addl. City Civil and - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:8389 CRL.P No. 15104 of 2025 Sessions Judge, at Bengaluru (CCH-72). Filed against the petitioner for the offense punishable u/sunder IPC. 498(A), 506, 307 of IPC and Sec.3 & 4 of DP Act." 4. In light of the settlement arrived at between the parties quoted supra and the offences not being against the State, I deem it appropriate to terminate the proceedings pending against the petitioner in the subject petition. 5. For the aforesaid reasons, the following: ORDER i) Criminal Petition is disposed. ii) Proceedings in S.C.No.265/2022 pending before the LXXI City Civil and Sessions Judge, Bengaluru (CCH-72), stand quashed, qua the petitioner.
