Mazarbhuiyan, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the applicants who are the writ petitioners in WP(C) No.4263/2025. I have also heard Ms. P. R. Mahanta, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Respondent No.1 and Mr. H. Sharma, the learned counsel who appears on behalf of the Respondent Nos.2, 3 & 4. 2. This Court has duly perused the writ petition, and factually, the issue involved in the accompanying writ petition is similar to the issue raised in WP(C) No.1563/2026, save and except the land under the possession of the Petitioners have not been allotted to any third party. 3. Be that as it may, the Petitioners have been able to make out a prima facie case as regards the rights in terms with Sections 4(1) and 4(2) of the Assam Land Holding (Adoption of Relationship under the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1886 in the Acquired Permanently Settled Estates) Act, 1974, and as such, it is the opinion of this Court that the Petitioners are Page No.# 5/5 entitled to certain interim directions. 4. Accordingly, this Court therefore directs that the parties to the accompanying writ petition shall maintain status quo till the next date fixed in the accompanying writ petition in respect to the land as described in the Schedule to the writ petition being WP(C) No.4263/2025. 5.
