Lalpur, District Ranchi. … Respondent(s). …… CORAM : SRI ANANDA SEN, J. ------ For the Petitioner(s) : Mr. Tejaswa Mohanta, Advocate For the Respondents : Mr. Sachin Kumar AAG-II For the JPSC : Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, Advocate …...... 02/ 19.03.2026: By way of filing this writ petition, the petitioners have sought for following prayer: “(i) For issuance of an appropriate writ, order and direction commanding/directing the respondent authorities to relax age limit of the petitioners in terms of Rule-4(i) of the Jharkhand Combined Civil Service Examination, 2021, since the examination is not being conducted every year as mandated in the said Rules and considering the same scenario the respondents have earlier given the age relaxation in the last civil service examinations pursuant to Advertisement No.01/2024 conducted in the year 2024 by treating the cut-off date for calculation of upper age limit as 01.08.2017. And/ Or (ii) The petitioners further prays to fix the cut-off date for calculation of upper age limit to be 01.08.2018 by substituting the same at para-4 of the Advertisement No.01/2026 issued by the respondent Jharkhand Public Service Commission (‘JPSC’ in short) inviting applications for filling up the civil services posts and also amended Rule-6(i) of the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Rules, 2021; by issuing a order/ corrigendum/ notification for relaxing the cut-off date for calculation of upper age limit as 01.08.2018. And/ Or (iii) for issuance of an appropriate writ, order and direction commanding/ directing the respondent authorities to provide age relaxation in Advertisement No.01/2026 issued by the respondent Jharkhand Public Service Commission (‘JPSC’ in short) which is termed as “Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination, 2025” for filling up the different civil services posts through direct recruitment examination by taking the maximum age to be calculated w.e.f. 01.08.2018. And/ Or (iv) The petitioners further prays that in the meantime the petitioners may be allowed to fill up the form against Advertisement No.01/2026 issued by the respondent JPSC which is termed as “Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination, 2025”. 2. Learned counsel for the respondents at the very outset submits that the issues in this writ petition are similar in nature to that of W.P.(S) No.1514 of 2026 (Neelam Kumari Vs. The State of Jharkhand & Others), which has been dismissed by this Court vide judgment dated 27.02.2026, therefore, this writ petition may be disposed of in view of the judgment passed in W.P.(S) No.1514 of 2026. 3. Considering the submission of learned counsel for the respondents, I find that the issues involved in this writ petition are similar to the issue involved in W.P.(S) No.1514 of 2026. 4.
