Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that pursuant to the Amendment Act, 2021, made to the Karnataka Certain Inams Abolition and Certain Other Law (Amendment) Act, 2021, (for short, 'Inams Abolition Act'), which was notified in the Gazette on 18.01.2022, the petitioner filed application on 07.05.2022 seeking re-grant of 0.06 guntas of land in Sy.No.28/1 and 3 acres 8 guntas of land in Survey No.29/1 of Channapattana Village, Kasaba Hobli, Hassan Taluk and District as found at Annexure-L. 3. This Court on an earlier occasion had dealt with a similar matter wherein subsequent to the amendment made to the Inams Abolition Act, the petitioner therein had filed application for re-grant. This Court, while granting relief to the petitioner therein had directed the Tahasildar to consider the representation. 4. Therefore in view of the amendment brought to the Inams Abolition Act, and the observations of this Court on an earlier occasion, this Court is of the considered opinion that the petitioner herein is entitled to receive similar benefit. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:7681 WP No. 38025 of 2025 5. Consequently, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4-Tahsildar, Hassan Taluk, to consider the application filed by the petitioner dated 07.05.2022 and formally pass necessary orders in accordance with law. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. Order accordingly. 7.
