At the outset, learned Additional Advocate General submits that tenure of the Members of District Consumers Redressal Forum is extended till 31.7.2026 in the light of decision of Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 21.5.2025 in SLP (C) No.9982/2024, a copy of which is also placed on record for perusal of this Court. 2. After going through the aforementioned order, learned counsel for petitioners submits that period has been extended only upto 31.7.2026 and not till fresh appointments are made. 3. Learned Additional Advocate General submits that the rules are formulated by the Central Government and based on the 3 rules, fresh proceeding for appointment of the Members is to be initiated. He submits that if rules are not published before 31.7.2026 and fresh appointment are not made, then further appropriate orders will be passed. 4. In view of above submission made by learned counsel for respective parties, in the opinion of this Court, nothing remains in this petition for adjudication at this stage in view of the relief sought for.
