JUSTICE JAYANT BANERJI) This petition was filed seeking the following reliefs: “(i) issue a writ of certiorari, quashing the impugned endorsement dated 07.03.2026 bearing No.ED/KEA/Legal/WP6835/2026 issued by the Respondent No.2 vide Annexure – N; (ii) issue a writ of mandamus or any other writ or direction directing the respondents to consider the representation of the Petitioner dated 04.03.2026 at Annexure-M and permit him to pursue PG in Medical courses in any of the colleges in State of Karnataka and dispose of the same expeditiously, to meet the ends of justice. (iii) grant such other order or direction as it deems fit to grant in the facts and circumstances of the case.” 2. On a previous occasion, the learned counsel for the petitioner had placed reliance upon a judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of Dr.Tanvi Behl vs. Shrey Goel and others1 to contend that admission to PG courses on the basis of reservation is impermissible in view of the observations of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the said judgment. 3. However, it is fairly submitted by the learned counsel for the appellant that now since the entire admission 1 2025 INSC 125 - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:23645-DB WP No. 8474 of 2026 process has drawn to a close, as far as the petition seeking admission to the post graduate course is concerned, has lost its relevance. However, he contends that the legal question being sought to be raised in the instant petition, be left open for him to be agitated, in case a cause of action arises. 4. It goes without saying that the judgment of the Supreme Court, would be binding on the State of Karnataka. It is the constitutional duty of the State Government to follow the same. 5. The learned AGA, who is present in Court is required to communicate this order to the appropriate Authority of the State Government for its perusal. 6.
