This bail application has been filed by the petitioner namely, Kanu Das under Section 482 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, seeking pre-arrest bail, apprehending arrest in connection with Nagaon P.S. Case No. 540/2025 under Sections 103/ 3(5) of BNS, 2023. Page No.# 2/2 3. The allegation against the petitioner is that he stabbed the victim and killed him over a dispute in connection with an electricity bill. 4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a compromise has been effected between the parties and in this regard an affidavit has been sworn by the informant. 5. The learned Addl. Public Prosecutor with reference to the case diary has submitted that accused had killed the deceased by repeated stabs, which is confirmed by the eye witness and the post-mortem report of the case and in this nature of cases, a mere affidavit of compromise is of no significance. 6. Having regard to the above seriousness of the offence and the materials available on records, the prayer for pre-arrest bail stands rejected. 7.
