The learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that respondent authorities have been duly served. In spite of service, none appears on the behalf of the respondents. Mr. Subhasis Bandopadhyay, learned Advocate, who usually appears for the State, is present in Court and is requested to represent the State in this matter. Let the appointment of Mr. Bandopadhyay be regularized by the competent authority. The petitioner has filed this writ petition praying for a direction upon the respondent authorities to correct the record of rights in respect of the plots in question. After going through the said representation, it appears to this Court that the petitioner has alleged inaction on the part of the authority under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1956, which is a specified Act under Section 2(r) of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997. This Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition in view of the alternative efficacious remedy available under the 1997 Act. Faced with such situation, the learned Advocate for the petitioner prays for leave to withdraw this writ petition with liberty to approach before the appropriate forum in accordance with law. In the light of the submission made by the learned Advocate for the petitioner, WPA 699 of 2026 stands dismissed as withdrawn with liberty to the petitioner to approach before the appropriate forum in accordance with law.
