WPA No. 8092 of 2026
Jadab Roy Vs.
WBSEDCL & Ors.
Mr. Saheb Banerjee
… for the petitioner.
Dr. Madhusudan Saha Roy Mr. Debanjan Chatterjee
… for the WBSEDCL
The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the unauthorized and illegal acts of the WBSEDCL in disconnecting the electricity connection to the petitioner. On behalf of WBSEDCL, it is submitted that a final order of assessment dated 13th March, 2026 has been passed and the petitioner is yet to challenge the said order. It is further submitted on behalf of WBSEDCL that there are serious allegations of theft by hooking, which have been undertaken by the petitioner. In such circumstances, WPA 8092 of 2026 stands dismissed on the ground that the petitioner has an alternative efficacious remedy. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to avail of the statutory remedy in accordance with law. It is made clear that there has been no expression on the merits of the case and all
2 questions are left open for the appropriate authority to decide strictly in accordance with law.
