Petitioner at this stage does not want to press Prayer Clause No.1 2. Accordingly the writ petition is dismissed, as not pressed, so far as Prayer Clause No.1 is concerned. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner participated in a selection process for the post of Assistant Teacher, Primary School (Arts) in District- Uttarkashi, pursuant to advertisement issued dated 07.11.2025 by the District Education Officer (Primary) Uttarkashi. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that the petitioner got 74.87 quality points in his favour, but despite that the petitioner has not been selected and given appointment while the persons having lesser marks than that of the petitioner were appointed. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner would press for Prayer Clause No.2 whereby a writ of mandamus is sought to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment, for which a representation, annexure no.8 to the writ petition, has been submitted by him before respondent no.3-District Education Officer. 1 UKHC010127042026 2026:UHC:6216 6. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that if the respondent no.3-District Education Officer is directed to decide the representation of the petitioner, annexure no.8 to the writ petition, ends of justice would met. 7. Learned counsel for the State has no objection if such a direction is issued to the respondent no.3-District Education Officer. 8. Accordingly writ petition stands disposed of. Respondent no.3-District Education Officer is directed to decide the representation of the petitioner, annexure no.8 to the writ petition, within a period of one month from the date of production of certified copy of this order, by speaking and reasoned order.
