UKHC010125892026 2026:UHC:6144 SL. No. Date Office Notes, reports, orders or proceedings or directions and Registrar’s order with Signatures COURT’S OR JUDGE’S ORDERS WPSS/1920/2026 Sandeep Rana --Petitioner Versus State Of Uttarakhand --Respondent Hon'ble Pankaj Purohit, J. Mr. Reituparna Joshi with Mr. Ish Mohan Bhatt, learned Counsel for the petitioner. 2. Mr. Anil Dabral, learned Addl. CSC for the State. 3. Mr. Shailendra Nauriyal, learned Counsel for respondent no.2-Selecting Body. 4. By means of this petition, petitioner has prayed to issue a writ of mandamus directing respondent no.2 to pay the petitioner the benefit of regular pay scale along with grade pay, as is being paid to regularly selected Group-C employees on the principle of ‘equal pay for equal work’. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that since the petitioner is discharging the same functions as are being discharged by regularly selected Data Entry Operator (Group-C), therefore he is entitled to get the same remuneration on the basis of “equal pay for equal work”. 6. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that for the said relief, petitioner has filed a representation to respondent no.2 for redressal of his grievance and he submits that if a direction is issued to UKHC010125892026 2026:UHC:6144 respondent no.2 to decide the said representation within a stipulated time, ends of justice would be met. 7. Learned counsel for respondent no.2 does not oppose the aforesaid proposition. 8. In such view of the matter, this writ petition is finally disposed of by directing respondent no.2 to decide the representation (Annexure No.3) moved by petitioner regarding equal pay for equal work at par with the regularly selected Data Entry Operator (Group- C) within a period of eight weeks’ from the date of production of a certified copy of this order, strictly in accordance with law. 9. Pending application, if any, stands disposed of.
