Petitioner was elected as Ward Member for Ward No. 6 against a seat reserved for Other Backward Class in Nagar Palika Bazpur. Her caste certificate has been cancelled on a complaint. Petitioner has challenged the decision taken by District Level Caste Scrutiny Committee. 3. Learned State Counsel points out that petitioner has remedy of filing appeal before State Level Caste Scrutiny Committee. Thus he submits that instead of preferring appeal, petitioner has wrongly approached this Court and the issues raised by petitioner in this petition can be raised before the appellate UKHC010120892026 2026:UHC:6170 authority. 4. The said contention is not disputed by learned counsel for the petitioner. He, however, submits that petitioner will lose the office to which she was elected because of impugned order. 5. The writ petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioner to file appeal before The State Level Caste Scrutiny Committee. 6. It shall be open to the petitioner to move application for interim relief before the State Level Caste Scrutiny Committee. If she files appeal within 72 hours, the appeal shall be considered as early as possible. 7. For a period of 72 hours, status quo as regards the office of Ward Member for Ward No. 6 Keshav Nagar, shall be maintained.
