This is an office reference on the basis of a request letter received from the Court of I Civil Judge, Senior Division, Durg, whereby the learned trial Court has sought extension of time to conclude the trial in Civil Suit No. 02A/2018 (Akhtar Hussain v. Abdul Gaffar). It is stated that in WP(227) No. 118/2020, this Court, vide order dated 21.11.2024, directed conclusion of the trial within an outer time limit of one year from the date of receipt of a copy of the said order. However, due to the pendency of several interim applications and the large number of witnesses to be examined, the trial could not be concluded within the stipulated time. Accordingly, further time has been sought for completion of the trial. 2. In view of the reasons stated by the learned trial Court, a further period of four months is granted to conclude the trial of the aforesaid case. 3. Accordingly, the MCC is disposed of.
