T FOR R3 AND R4 ORDER The petitioner had filed this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the third and fourth respondents to provide necessary police protection for taking of temple chariot and conduct possession of deity of Arulmigu Sri https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Crl. No. 710 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 5 Muthumariamman Temple, Peelavadi Village, Kunnam Taluk, Perambalur District in the usual pathway which is carried out for the past several years based on the agreement dated 30.04.2012. 2. It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that their ancestors constructed the temple Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Temple, Peelvadi Village and for which chariot running and deity procession are commenced and in this regard an agreement was also made by the entire villagers on 30.04.2012. While so, during the temple festival in the month of April 2025, the respondents 6 to 8 along with some others obstructed the procession of the deity due to which entire temple festival was stalled. Since the petitioner apprehend the similar situation during the temple festival this year which is scheduled to be conducted in the month of April 2026, the present Writ Petition has been filed. 3. The Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the since, there is possibility of law and order issue the fourth respondent had forwarded the representation of the petitioner to the Revenue Divisional Officer and that there are two groups, A group headed by the petitioner and B group headed by one Magadevan and that now the Revenue Division Officer has called both the parties for peace meeting. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Crl. In view of the submissions of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, it is for the Revenue Divisional Officer to consider the request of the petitioner and if there is no law and order issue, the fourth respondent police shall provide police protection for procession during the temple festival. 5.
