Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that petitioner is in custody for six years and earlier the prayer for bail was rejected and only 10 witnesses have been examined in connection with the present case. Learned advocate for the State submits that the prosecution evidence is at the verge of completion. The evidence of the investigating officer is in progress, in fact, the examination-in-chief is over and next date has been fixed on 2nd of March, 2026 for cross- examination of the witness. Having regard to the final stages of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (M) 216 of 2026 is dismissed.
2 Learned trial Court would ensure that within another three months petitioner is entitled to an outcome so far as the present case is concerned. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
