It is also contended that the prosecution has relied upon 22 witnesses in support of its case. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and has drawn the attention of the court to the statement of the victim under Section 164 of the Cr.P.C. as well as the medicolegal examination report of the victim. 2 Having considered that both are singing in the same tune, I am of the view that this is not a fit case for releasing the petitioner on bail. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected. However, the learned trial court would expedite the process of trial for taking the same to its logical conclusion by 31st December, 2026.
