This is an application wherein petitioners have prayed for expeditious disposal of G.R. Case No.1425 of 2013 presently pending before learned Judicial Magistrate, 5th Court, Serampore. Learned Counsel for the petitioners submits that the case was initiated in the year 2013 on the basis of a written complaint and the charge-sheet dated 28.09.2013 was submitted under Sections 147/341/323/504 IPC. It is further submitted that prosecution has proposed to examine 8 witnesses out of which they could examine so far only two witnesses and due to long pendency of the instant proceeding, the petitioner is suffering a lot. Having heard learned Counsel for the petitioners and the State, it appears that the prayer made by the petitioners is justified in view of long pendency of the proceeding and, as such, it is allowed in the ends of justice. CRR 2033 of 2025 is hereby disposed of with a direction upon the Court below to make every endeavour for expeditious disposal of the 2 above-mentioned proceeding and to conclude the trial preferably within a period of six months from the next date of hearing. This order is passed invoking this Court’s jurisdiction under Section 529 of the BNSS.
