Ms. Sanjana Jha, Adv. …for the respondent The Court: The petitioner has preferred the present petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for completion of the arbitral proceedings and publication of the arbitral award. Learned Advocate for the respondent does not oppose the prayer for extension of the mandate which expired on 28.02.2026. However, the respondent contends that an issue with regard to the seat and venue of arbitration is pending consideration before the Hon’ble Apex Court. It is submitted that the arbitration has reached the stage of final arguments. 2 Having regard to the progress made in the arbitration proceedings and for the ends of justice, the mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended further by a period of six months from today. However, such extension shall remain subject to the decision of the Hon’ble Apex Court in the pending matter. With the aforesaid observations, the present petition stands disposed of.
