Neutral Citation No. ( 2026:JHHC:12181-DB ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI Cr. Appeal (DB) No. 502 of 2026 Mangrita Devi, W/o Late Rajendra Kerketta @ Rajendra Munda, resident of village: Hurmunda, Harkutoli, PO: Aarahans, PS: Netarhat, District: Latehar (Jharkhand). ... Appellant Versus The State of Jharkhand … Respondent --- CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE PRADEEP KUMAR SRIVASTAVA For the Appellant : Mr. Vishnu Prabhakar Pathak, Advocate For the State : A.P.P. --- 02/27.04.2026 Heard the learned counsel for the respective sides. This appeal is directed against the order dated 10.03.2026 passed in Bail Petition No. 80/2026 by the learned Sessions Judge, Latehar in connection with Mahuadanr PS Case No. 21/2024, whereby and whereunder, the prayer for bail of the appellant has been rejected. It has been alleged that in course of checking a bus was intercepted and three minors were recovered from the bus. In course of inquiry, it came to light that the appellant had got three minor children boarded on the vehicle and had left. It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the appellant that the appellant was not apprehended at the spot and in fact, one of the victims recovered namely Rekha Kumari had disclosed that she was going to Delhi as her sister works there as also on account of poor financial condition of her parents. Learned counsel submits that the appellant is in custody since 18.01.2026 and she does not have any criminal antecedent. Learned A.P.P has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellant. Regard being had to fact that the victims were recovered from the bus and the appellant seems to have been implicated on account of the disclosure made by the minor children who were rescued apart from the fact that the appellant is in custody since 18.01.2026, we while setting aside the order dated 10.03.2026 passed in Bail Petition No. 80/2026 by the learned Sessions Judge, Latehar in connection with Mahuadanr PS Case No. 21/2024 direct the appellant be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Rs. Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned SDJM, Latehar in connection with Mahuadanr PS Case No. 21/2024. This appeal is allowed.
