Also heard Mr. B Sarma, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State of Assam. 2. This is an application under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 in respect of Helem P.S. Case No.27/2026, whereby the petitioner, namely, Rajen Hazarika has prayed for grant of pre- arrest bail. 3. The petitioner is the owner of a vehicle bearing Registration No.AS-22-C-9877. On Page No.# 2/2 09.05.2026, the vehicle of the petitioner along with another vehicle bearing Registration No.AR-22-4721 were stopped by police. The vehicles were carrying 25 numbers of cattles without any valid document. 4. Mr. Sarma has objected to the bail prayer of the petitioner on the ground that the petitioner being the owner and driver of the vehicle bearing Registration No.AS-22-C-9877 had fled away on seeing police. 5. I have considered the submissions made by the learned counsel of both sides. 6. The cows transported by the vehicle of the petitioner do not have any valid document to justify that the cattles were not meant for transportation of stolen cows and he is not guilty of slaughtering cows for sale of meat in the market. 7. Therefore, the pre-arrest bail application of the petitioner is dismissed and disposed of. The CD shall be returned. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
