An advertisement dated 07.11.2025 was issued by respondent no.5 for filling 81 posts of Assistant Teacher, Primary School in District Champawat. The petitioner, being fully eligible, applied for the post. The provisional merit list was published on 10.01.2026, wherein the petitioner's name figured with 74.46 quality marks. The notification stipulated that counselling for document verification would be held on 12.01.2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the office of respondent no.5. 3. It is admitted that the petitioner appeared on the said date but, owing to health issues during travel, reached around 12:00 p.m. and reported for verification. Respondent no.5, however, declined permission, despite allowing candidates with 74 quality points. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the final merit list remains unpublished. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the denial is arbitrary and violative of Articles 14 and 16 of the Constitution. 5. Having heard the parties and considered the material on record, this 2026:UHC:601 Court finds that the petitioner was bona fide present with minimal delay due to health reasons. 6. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to appear before the respondent no.5 on 24.01.2026 at 11:00 a.m. Respondent no.5 shall verify her documents forthwith and, if found in order and eligible, her name shall be included in the further selection process as per her merit and Recruitment Rules.
