Mr. U. Ghosh, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. B. Paul, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the writ petition has become infructuous in view of the fact that the petitioner has unfortunately expired during the pendency of this writ petition.
Mr. S. M. T. Chistie, learned Standing Counsel, Secondary Education Department, by placing the communication dated 15.06.2026 from the Inspector of Schools, BDC, Barpeta, along with the Death Certificate of the petitioner, submits that the petitioner has expired on 10.09.2023. He submits that the scheme under which the petitioner had made the claim has already been superseded and is no longer in operation.
Ms. K. Phukan, learned State Counsel, for respondent No. 4, is present.
In view of above, the issue raised in this writ petition no longer survives for adjudication.
