Mr. Madhusudan Saha Ray, Mr. Debanjan Chatterjee, … for the WBSEDCL. The grievance of the petitioner is directed against installation of a transformer outside his premises. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the transformer has been installed adjacent to the premises of the petitioner and is causing serious risk to life and limb. There is also constant inconvenience and nuisance by the construction of the above transformer. On behalf of the WBSEDCL pursuant to an order dated 21 January, 2026 a Report has been filed in this proceeding. It appears from the Report that a new electricity line has been installed keeping safe distance from the petitioner’s home. A cradle guard has also been provided for. There is also sufficient distance from the existing main gate of the premises and no disturbance would occur in 2 the future. Prima facie, it appears that the prayer for removal of the pole and transformer is unjustified. WBSEDCL has taken sufficient precautionary measure in installing the above pole and transformer. There is also no viable option which the petitioner has been able to suggest to the WBSEDCL. In such circumstances, WPA 27037 of 2025 stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
