Be it stated that the appeal alongwith this application for condonation of delay in filing the appeal was filed way back on 24.07.2025 and thereafter the notice was ordered to be issued to the respondent on 05.09.2025. Since then the applicant-State has been taking time for the service of the respondent, but till date, no steps have been taken. 1 Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 ( 2026:HHC:18844 ) 3. On the last date of hearing, i.e. 05.05.2026, this Court passed the following order:- “At the request of learned Additional Advocate General, two weeks’ further time, is granted to take steps for the service of respondent, failing which, the present appeal shall be dismissed for want of prosecution. As prayed for, list on 21.05.2026.” 4. Therefore, in view of the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, since the applicant-State has failed to take steps for the service of the respondent, despite various opportunities, this Court is left with no option, but to dismiss the application for want of prosecution. 5. Accordingly, the present application, alongwith the main appeal (RFAST No.45392/25), is dismissed for want of prosecution. Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
