JUSTICE S.R.KRISHNA KUMAR - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20203 WP No. 27067 of 2023 ORAL ORDER In this petition, petitioners have sought for the following reliefs; "a) Issue a writ or order or direction in the nature of writ of mandamus directing the respondents grant weightage to the service renered by the petitioners irrespective of the subject taught by them, for incluidng them in the selection list of teachers for appointment to the postion of teacher in theirespective streams; b) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ order or direction directing the respondents to include the names of the petitioners in the final select list and further consier the case of the petitioners for appointment to the post of teachers in their respective streams in the services of the schools run/controlled by the Karnataka Residential Education Institutional Society from the date on which the respondnts have appointed teachers in the year 2012, with effect from occurrence of the vacant or whichever is earlier and grant them fixation of pay, arrears of salary and increments and all the consequential benefits to meet the ends of justice; - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20203 WP No. 27067 of 2023 c) Grant such other orders of relief's as this Hon'ble court deems fit to grant in the circumstances of the case by allowing this writ petition, in the interest of justice and equity." 2. The issue in controversy is directly and squarely covered by the judgment of this Court in the case of Sri. RAMANJANYA G B AND OTHERS VS. STATE OF KARNATAKA - W.P.No.31387/2025 dated 21.02.2026, wherein it is held as under: " ORAL ORDER This writ petition is filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to consider the representations dated 09.10.2025, 09.10.2025, 22.09.2025, 02.09.2025, 29.09.2025, 29.09.2025, 22.09.2025, 03.08.2023, 16.12.2020, 27.03.2025, 26.09.2025, 03.08.2023, and 21.07.2014, vide Annexures S, S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9, S10, S11, and S12, respectively, to the extent of service weightage for the period from the date of joining till the date of notification. - 6 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20203 WP No. 27067 of 2023 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners do not press the other prayers. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that, in an identical matter, this Court, in W.P.No. 34626/2025, disposed of the matter on 15.12.2025 by directing the second respondent to consider the representation within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order. 4. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this writ petition stands disposed of, directing the second respondent to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 09.10.2025, 09.10.2025, 22.09.2025, 02.09.2025, 29.09.2025, 29.09.2025, 22.09.2025, 03.08.2023, 16.12.2020, 27.03.2025, 26.09.2025, 03.08.2023, and 21.07.2014, vide Annexures S, S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9, S10, S11, and S12, respectively, and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order." 3. Under these circumstances, I deem it just and appropriate to dispose of this petition by directing the respondents - 7 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:20203 WP No. 27067 of 2023 to address the grievances of the petitioners and consider and pass appropriate orders / take appropriate decision within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order in accordance with law, bearing in mind the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.31387/2025 dated 21.02.2026 and Annexure - L. 4.
