NARENDRA PRASAD ORAL ORDER This writ petition is filed under Articles 226 & 227 of the Constitution of India, seeking the following relief: “Issue writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ or order, directing the Respondents to pay the petitioner a sum of Rs.41,42,005/- (disburse the pension arrears and surrender leave encashment) with interest at the rate of 10% from the date of due till the date of payment within 15 days of the date of this order as per (Annexure-A and Annexure-B).” 2. The petitioner is a retired Professor of Mangalore University. He served 31 years as a Professor in the respondent – Mangalore University. After retirement, the retirement benefit in a sum of Rs.41,42,005/- was not - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:8063 WP No. 29808 of 2025 paid. Hence, the petitioner submitted representations dated 12.07.2025 and 02.09.2025 to respondent Nos.2 and 3, vide Annexures F and G, respectively. Since the respondents have not considered the same, the petitioner is before this Court. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent - University submits that, if this Court grants some reasonable time, the representations submitted by the petitioner vide Annexures F and G would be considered in accordance with law. 4. In view of the above, this writ petition stands disposed of directing the respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to consider the representations submitted by the petitioner dated 12.07.2025 and 02.09.2025 vide Annexures F and G, as expeditiously as possible, not later than three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
