O R D E R By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing respondents to reassess and determine the just, fair and reasonable compensation payable to the petitioner for the lands comprised in Survey Nos.133/11, 133/6, 134/5, 134/6B, 134/7, 135/11B, 133/3B and 125/7B in Kadanallur Village measuring 1.40 acres and Survey Nos.80/1, 80/2A1 and 81/2 in Krishnapuram Kandigai Village measuring 3.47 acres, in all measuring 4.47 acres, affected by erection of transmission towers and right of way corridor, 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.No.9612 of 2026 after deducting the sum of Rs.1,18,800/- already paid, and to pay the balance compensation with interest. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the owner of the subject property. The respondents in connection with a High Tension Electricity Transmission Project, have erected transmission towers and drawn overhead transmission lines across the petitioner’s lands and hence, a substantial portion of the petitioner’s lands have become partly unusable and the utility, value and productivity of the lands have been drastically reduced.
The respondents though calculated a higher amount of Rs.4,02,737/-, have paid only a sum of Rs.1,18,800/- to the petitioner towards compensation. Therefore, the petitioner made representations dated 30.04.2025 to the second respondent and 02.06.2025 to the fourth respondent requesting enhancement and reassessment of compensation in the light of G.O.Ms.No.86 dated 30.10.2019, however, there is no response. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that this Court may without going into the merits of the 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.No.9612 of 2026 case, issue direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 30.04.2025 and 02.06.2025 and to pass appropriate orders, within a reasonable time frame. 5.Considering the limited relief now sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 30.04.2025 and 02.06.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.The writ petition is disposed of.
