UKHC010074732026 2026:UHC:5975 1 HIGH COURT OF UTTARAKHAND AT NAINITAL Writ Petition Service Single No. 1224 of 2026 17 July, 2026 Dinesh Kumar --Petitioner Versus Director Corbett Tiger Reserve and Another --Respondents ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Presence:- Mr. Bharat Tewari, learned counsel for petitioner. Mr. Bhupendra Singh Koranga, learned Brief Holder for the State of Uttarakhand/respondents. Hon’ble Pankaj Purohit, J. (Oral) This writ petition has been filed by petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus commanding respondents to regularize him on the post of Sweeper/House keeping with respondent No.1 and further another ancillary relief. 2. It is contended by learned counsel for petitioner that petitioner has been working with respondent No.1 more than 20 years, as he was engaged as Sweeper in Dhikala Range of respondent No.1 in 2005. 3. It is further alleged by learned counsel for petitioner that earlier petitioner was paid salary in cash and thereafter he is being paid salary through bank account. Petitioner has annexed copy of bank account as Annexure No.1 to the writ petition. 4. He further contends that the nature of work discharged by petitioner is perennial in nature and respondent No.1 is still in need of his service as Sweeper/House Keeper, therefore, he prays for his regularization as Sweeper/House Keeper with respondent No.1. UKHC010074732026 2026:UHC:5975 2 5. Learned counsel for petitioner has drawn the attention of this Court to Annexure No.2, representation submitted by petitioner dated 02.02.2026 to Deputy Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Ramnagar, Nainital. But the said representation is still undecided. 6. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that if a direction is issued to respondent No.1 to decide the petitioner’s representation dated 02.02.2026 within stipulated time, the ends of justice would be met. 7. Learned State Counsel submits that the said representation is not made to respondent No.1-Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Ramnagar, Nainital rather it is made to Deputy Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Ramnagar, Nainital. 8. In such view of the matter, writ petition is disposed of finally and it is provided that petitioner may file a fresh representation for his regularization to respondent No.1-Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Ramnagar, Nainital, within three weeks from today. If such representation is moved by petitioner to respondent No.1 within three weeks, the said representation shall be decided by respondent No.1-Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, Ramnagar, Nainital, within two months from the date of receipt of representation, strictly in accordance with law.
