(Oral) By means of this writ petition, petitioners have sought a writ of mandamus commanding the respondent- Selecting Body to revise/re-schedule the date of written examination for the post of Lecturer (Civics) to be held on 18.07.2026. 2. It is submitted by learned Counsel for petitioners that petitioners are the residents of hill districts i.e. Rudraprayag, Pauri Garhwal and Pithoragarh, and due to ongoing Monsoon season, they want the examination to be re-scheduled. 3. The prayer so made by petitioners cannot be allowed. The examinations are scheduled to be held on 18.07.2026. Not only the petitioners, but many other candidates throughout the State of Uttarakhand are participating in the said examination. To provide relief to 1 UKHC010123092026 2026:UHC:5867 petitioners as sought for by petitioners will be detrimental to the interest of other candidates who are ready to appear in the exam scheduled to be held on 18.07.2026. 4. This Court, in exercise of power vested under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, does not find it a fit case for interference. The writ petition fails and the same is dismissed. 5. Pending application, if any, stands disposed of accordingly.
