Ms. Shruti Joshi, learned legal aid counsel for the petitioner.
2. Mr. Suyash Pant, learned counsel has put in appearance on behalf of respondent.
3. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following reliefs:-
“a. To issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus, directing Respondent No. 1 to return/release the possession/seizure of vehicle, in the working condition after proper repairing and required servicing, along with the documents so that the petitioner may earn his livelihood.
b. To issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus, restraining Respondent No. 1 from transferring, alienating, using, or allowing any unauthorized use of the Petitioner’s vehicle pending the adjudication of the present writ petition.
To issue a writ, order or direction quashing the illegal ex-parte arbitration award dated 30.08.2024 passed against the petitioner.”
4. It is not in dispute that petitioner took a loan from Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited. Since there was default in repayment of the loan, therefore, as per the loan agreement, arbitral proceedings were initiated and the arbitrator has given an award.
5. The relief, as claimed, cannot be granted, as there is an award rendered by

2026:UHC:5871 arbitrator. The remedy available to petitioner is to challenge the said award in appropriate proceedings.
6. With the aforesaid observation, the writ petition stands dismissed.
