Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that although, petitioner was considered for promotion on the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector against the vacancies of the year, yet only on account of involvement in one criminal matter, the petitioner was placed under suspension at the relevant time. Result of the petitioner was not declared and it was kept in sealed cover. Learned counsel submits that thereafter, the alleged criminal case has been concluded and the petitioner has been acquitted in criminal case vide judgment dated 17.11.2025 and much before [2026:RJ-JP:21536] (2 of 2) [CW-9141/2026] that the suspension order of the petitioner has also been revoked by the respondents. 2. Learned counsel submits that under these circumstances, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 18.02.2026 before the Superintendent of Police, District Jhunjhunu, with request to open the sealed cover and to proceed accordingly. Learned counsel submits that although, the representation was given on 18.02.2026, yet the Competent Authority is sitting right over the representation and no order whatsoever has been passed thereon. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, in case, the writ petition is disposed of with direction to the Competent Authority to decide the representation dated 18.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner. 3. In view of above limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court deems it proper to dispose of this writ petition at this stage, with direction to the Superintendent of Police, District Jhunjhunu, to decide the representation dated 18.02.2026, if received by the respondents, within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of representation strictly in accordance with law by a speaking and reasoned order. 4. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on merits of the case. 5. Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of. (ANAND SHARMA),J 33/NEERU
