Affidavit of service, as filed, be kept with the record. 2. This writ-petition has been filed by the petitioner-financial institution, seeking an order for expeditious disposal of the applications filed by it in between August 2025 and September 2025 under Section 14 of under The Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (hereinafter, the said Act), before the respondent no. 2, the District Magistrate, Nadia. The petitioner had also sent a reminder on 21.01.2026. 3. In spite of the application and the reminder thereto, the respondent no. 2 has not been able to dispose of the applications’ which he is statutorily mandated to do within a period of 30 days. 4. The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in several cases and particularly in the matter reported in AIR (2022) SC 485 (R.D. Jain Vs. Capital First Limited) has held that such applications ought to be disposed of in a time bound manner as time is the essence of this Act. 5. In view of the afore-stated, I direct the respondent no. 2 to dispose of such applications by 15.03.2026. 6. With this direction, WPA 2710 of 2026 is disposed of. No order as to costs.
