This writ petition has been filed by petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus commanding the respondents to consider the claim of petitioner for compassionate appointment as per his qualification under the Dying in Harness Rules, 1974. 4. Petitioner contends that father of petitioner was working with respondent-University as Sweeper, a Class IV employee, in Dr. B. Gopala Reddy constituent College of respondent-University in Pauri Garhwal since 1988. Father of petitioner died in harness on 02.01.2022 leaving behind his wife and one son as his legal heirs. Petitioner, being the only son of deceased employee, moved an application to the Registrar of H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar on 03.02.2022 seeking compassionate appointment in place of his father. The said application of petitioner is still lying consideration for last more than four years. Petitioner is, therefore, before this Court. 5. Learned Counsel for respondent-University submits that since the application of petitioner is UKHC010119062026 2026:UHC:5695 pending disposal, the said application will be decided within a stipulated time, as prescribed by this Court, in accordance with law. 6. Having heard learned Counsel for the parties and having perused the record, the writ petition is finally disposed of directing the Registrar, H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar to decide the application of petitioner dated 03.02.2022 moved by him seeking compassionate appointment as per law. The application be decided expeditiously but not later than three months from today.
