Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about two years and till date, the prosecution did not submit charge-sheet in respect of further investigation. There are other accused persons who till date has not been arrested by the police authorities, neither there is any scope, according to the petitioner, of trial commencing in near future. As such, on the grounds of the period of detention, learned advocate prays for bail of the petitioner. Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the petitioner along with others assaulted the deceased and genesis of the incident was because of political rivalry. 2 Having considered the present state of affairs, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. Petitioner would be at liberty to pray for bail if within one and a half months, the prosecution fails to submit the report in final form. The application for bail, being CRM (M) 481 of 2026, is, thus, dismissed. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
