This criminal miscellaneous petition has been filed by the petitioner with a challenge to the order dated 13.10.2020 passed by the learned Judicial Magistrate Chirawa, District Jhunjhunu in Regular Criminal Case No. 180/2009 whereby, an application filed by the petitioner for extension of time of the validity of passport / renewal of passport, was dismissed. 2. No one is present on behalf of the petitioner. 3. This petition was filed on 20.10.2020. As per the provisions of the Passports Act, 1967 renewal of a passport is to be made by the Passport Authority after taking into consideration the eligibility criteria as provided under the Act. 4. The petitioner has a remedy to make an application before the Passport Authorities for renewal of the passport or [2026:RJ-JP:21867] (2 of 2) [CRLMP-4953/2020] extension of its validity, the Authorities shall consider and pass appropriate order. 5. In view of the specific provisions under the Passports Act as regards the renewal of the passport/ extension of validity of passports, this Court is of the opinion that the order passed by the Court below does not suffer from any perversity or illegality. 6. Accordingly, the criminal miscellaneous petition is dismissed, being devoid of merit. 7. Stay application as well as pending application(s), if any, also stand disposed of.
