The present petition has been filed under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (“Arbitration Act”) seeking extension of mandate of the Sole Arbitrator with effect from 28th January, 2026, in order to enable the Sole Arbitrator to pass an award, as the time to conclude the arbitral proceedings has expired on 27th January, 2026. 2. This Court is informed that there are three connected arbitration proceedings between the same parties, which are currently pending before the learned Sole Arbitrator. 3. It is submitted that pleadings in the three arbitral proceedings have already been completed. 4. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that recording This is a digitally signed order. Learned counsel for the respondents appears pursuant to the notice issued by this Court and submits that he has no objection if the mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended. 6. However, he submits that in view of the fact that there are three connected arbitration matters and the documents are voluminous, time of nine months be granted as extended period. 7. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners joins in the said request. 8. Accordingly, with the consent of the parties, the mandate of the learned Arbitrator for the period from 27th January, 2026 till today, is regularized and further, the mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended for a period of nine months with effect from 27th January, 2026. 9.
