AD 20 February 27, 2026 Ct. 28 SG CRM(A) 274 of 2026 Reject An application for anticipatory bail under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 in connection with Chatterjeehat P.S. Case No.143 of 2025 dated 01.07.2025 under Sections 308(2)/310(2) of the BNS, 2023. And In the matter of: Sujauddin Mondal … petitioner Mr. Debasis Kar … for the petitioner Mr. Bitasok Banerjee Ms. Ankita Pal … for the State Report filed by the State is taken on record. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case. He has no connection whatsoever with the present accused. Learned counsel for the State strongly opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail and submits that some of the co- accused had promised to deliver gold to the petitioner at a lower rate. He went to a particular place to take delivery of the gold, and a sum of Rs.2.25 lakhs was taken from him. Soon thereafter, other co-accused arrived and took away the said gold from him. So far as the role of the present petitioner is concerned, it is alleged that he was present along with the other accused at the relevant place. Moreover, there are several phone call records showing 2 conversations between the present petitioner and the co- accused at the relevant time. Considering the above and the other materials available in the case diary, I do not consider this to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail. The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of requisite formalities.
