GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING 3 THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE MAHESWARA RAO KUNCHEAM WRIT PETITION NO: 9681 of 2026 The Court made the following Order: The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondents in not releasing financial assistance of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only), sanctioned to the Petitioner (Application I.D. No.OV201811635) under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Overseas Scholarship scheme, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The Petitioner had applied for financial assistance under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Overseas Scholarship scheme for the academic year 2018-2019 and the same was allotted with Application I.D. No.OV201811635. After due verification, Respondent No.3 sanctioned Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) in favour of the Petitioner for pursuing Master of Science Construction Project Management Course at Birmingham City University, in two (02) installments. Though, the Petitioner is pursuing his studies at abroad, the financial assistance, as promised to the petitioner was not disbursed. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed. 4 3. Smt. Swapna Priya Chakilam, learned Assistant Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1, 3 and 4 submits that the application of the Petitioner would be considered and amounts would be sanctioned, if the Petitioner is within the conditions specified, for release of the amounts. 4. Considering the submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions: i) The Respondents are directed to examine the claim of the Petitioner, in terms of G.O.Ms.No.29 dated 27.08.2016, within a period of six (06) weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. ii) In the event, the claim of the Petitioner is held to be in order, the Respondents are directed to release the amounts to the Petitioner within a further period of ten (10) weeks.
