HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT ALLAHABAD WRIT - C No. - 34518 of 2026 Court No. - 1 HON'BLE AJIT KUMAR, J. HON'BLE SIDDHARTH NANDAN, J. 1. Heard learned counsel for the parties. 2. By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner seeks re-issuance of his passport with the correct date of birth as recorded in his High School Certificate. 3. It is contended that in the year 2014, the passport was initially issued to the petitioner with a date of birth which was not the same as that subsequently recorded in his High School Certificate. However, he submits that his application for re-issuance of the passport has now been closed. 4. In view of the above, we dispose of the writ petition with direction to the petitioner to apply afresh for re-issuance of the passport along with his High School Certificate. If he does so, since the High School Certificate is a recognised document for all official purposes, the Regional Passport Officer concerned shall consider and dispose of the application of the petitioner for correcting the date of birth as per the High School Certificate. The appropriate decision shall be taken by the Regional Passport Officer within a period of two months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order along with the fresh application for re-issuance of the passport.
