The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Hunterganj P.S. Case No. 140 of 2025, registered under sections 318(4)/274/275/3(5) of the BNS, 2023 and under section 47(a) of Excise Act, pending in the Court of learned Judicial Magistrate, Ist Class, Chatra. 3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that allegations are made that foreign liquor has been recovered from the forest area. He further submits that the name of the petitioner has come in the confessional statement of one Ashok Saw and petitioner has got no criminal antecedent which is disclosed in para 17 of the petition. He next submits that co-accused persons have 2026:JHHC:12418 --2-- A.B.A. No. 1845 of 2026 been granted anticipatory bail in A.B.A. Nos. 7017 of 2025 and 968 of 2026. On these grounds, he submits that the petitioner may kindly be provided privilege of anticipatory bail. 4. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer and submits that the name of the petitioner has come in the confessional statement 5. Considering that the name of the petitioner has come in the confessional statement and the petitioner got no criminal antecedent which is disclosed in para 17 of the petition and co- accused has been granted anticipatory bail in the aforesaid A.B.As., I am inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 6. Accordingly, the petitioner, above named, is hereby directed to surrender before the learned Court within three weeks from today, and in the event of his surrender/arrest, the petitioner, above named, shall be released on bail, on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand), with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Judicial Magistrate, Ist Class, Chatra in connection with Hunterganj P.S. Case No. 140 of 2025, subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 482(2) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. (Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi, J.) Dated 28.04.2026 Sangam/
